Booking & prices
What your quote covers, and how an enquiry becomes a confirmed plan.
How much does diving cost?
Your quote depends on the season, group size and dive or activity plan. We confirm the total for your agreed plan before you book—no hidden dive-day extras.
What is included in the dive price?
Your agreed dive price includes local dive transport, equipment, briefing and guided support, and underwater photos/videos. Confirm the meeting point and media-sharing arrangements with the team.
Are flights, ferries, accommodation and permits included?
Flights or ferries to Lakshadweep, accommodation and entry-permit fees are separate. Book travel and stays with the relevant providers.
How do I book, and when is my place confirmed?
Send an enquiry → agree your diving and travel plan → receive booking confirmation. An enquiry alone is not a confirmed place. Please wait for written confirmation from Scuba Lak, or speak directly with the team by phone or WhatsApp to confirm your booking. Ask for the dates, group total, meeting arrangements and applicable terms in writing before payment.
What should I include in my enquiry?
Use the contact form to share your name, email, an optional phone number and your plans. Dates, group size, preferred activity and previous diving experience help the team suggest a suitable option. Discuss health information privately with the team; do not upload medical documents to the enquiry form.
Your first dive
Swimming comfort, time in the water and what happens on the day.
Can I join if I cannot swim?
Some non-swimmers can join a supervised lagoon try-dive, but acceptance is not automatic. Tell the team before booking. You must be comfortable entering the water, breathing through a regulator and following instructions; you can tell your guide to stop if you feel uncomfortable. Certification courses have separate swimming requirements.
Who can join a lagoon try-dive?
Recreational try-dives are generally for ages 10–60, subject to the team’s assessment. Age alone does not confirm eligibility: medical suitability, water comfort, conditions and instructor availability all apply. Any required medical clearance must be completed before participation.
How deep will I go?
Lagoon dives are planned up to about 5 metres, not a depth you must reach. Your guide sets the actual depth around your comfort, suitability and the conditions.
How long will I be underwater?
First-timers often spend around 15–20 minutes underwater; comfortable divers may spend up to around 30–40 minutes. This is a guide, not a guaranteed duration. Allow additional time for meeting, briefing/practice, transport and return; your full activity window is confirmed with your plan.
How long should I keep free?
Underwater time is only part of the experience. Include time for arrival, equipment, briefing/practice, local transport and return. Ask for the complete date-specific window before arranging other activities.
What does a dive day look like?
Meet the team: Arrive at the meeting point shared with your confirmation. Review your plan and participation documents. Brief & practise: Check equipment, learn the signals and practise breathing with your guide before the dive. Dive at your pace: Follow a plan matched to your suitability, comfort, certification and the sea conditions. Return & share: Return with the team and confirm how you will receive the included photos and videos.
What should I bring?
Bring suitable swimwear, a towel, drinking water and the identification or participation documents requested in your confirmation. Share relevant health concerns privately with the team—not in the public enquiry form—and follow any medical-clearance instructions.
Certified dives & courses
Match the outing or training to your experience, rather than a fixed depth or deadline.
Who can join a certified-diver outing?
For appropriately certified divers. Share your certification, recent logged experience and comfort level before booking. The team confirms the site, depth and any refresher or medical-clearance requirements; junior and training limits still apply.
How long is a guided certified dive?
A typical guided dive may allow around 30–40 minutes underwater, depending on the agreed plan, air consumption, certification and conditions. Briefing, local transfers and return take additional time. Confirm the full outing window and number of dives with the team.
Do I need Advanced Open Water?
A deeper plan, potentially up to 30 metres for eligible adult divers, requires suitable training and experience. Share your existing certification; the team can suggest an outing within your actual limits. A 30-metre dive is not guaranteed.
Can I choose a particular dive site?
Tell us which site interests you. The final site and route depend on your suitability, sea conditions and the team’s assessment that day. Site names are not a promise of cave, tunnel or other overhead access.
Are wildlife sightings guaranteed?
No. Coral reefs and marine life are natural environments. Encounters and visibility vary, and the guide may change a route to respect conditions and the reef.
What if I have not dived recently?
Tell the team when and where you last dived, your certification and approximate logged dives. A refresher or a shallower first outing may be needed before a deeper plan can be agreed.
Which course should I choose?
Share your current certification, swimming ability, goals and time on Kadmat. The instructor can recommend a suitable starting point; an enquiry does not guarantee acceptance or certification.
Is certification guaranteed within the listed time?
No. Schedules are indicative. Completion depends on meeting the programme’s knowledge, water-skills and assessment requirements, as well as conditions.
How much time do I need for a course?
Course duration varies by programme, eLearning preparation, assessments and conditions. Each course page lists an indicative schedule; confirm enough island time before booking travel. Age, swimming ability, prior certification, experience and medical documentation depend on the course. Review the individual prerequisites and let the instructor confirm your training plan.
Other water activities
Build an unhurried island day around suitable activities and current conditions.
What can I do besides scuba diving?
Ask about snorkelling, kayaking, glass-bottom boat rides and deep sea fishing. The activity window depends on your chosen mix of snorkelling, kayaking, glass-bottom boat time or fishing. Confirm the duration, meeting point and local conditions with your quote.
Can I combine activities?
Ask the team about your preferred mix and available island time. The final plan depends on weather, suitability and availability; your quote will identify what is included.
Is every activity suitable for a non-swimmer?
No. Tell the team your water comfort and swimming ability before booking so they can confirm suitable activities, supervision and equipment.
Getting here & permits
Plan the permit, mainland journey and onward Kadmat connection together.
What is the budget-first way to reach Lakshadweep?
Passenger ships are usually the more economical mainland option, depending on route and cabin class. Check IRCTC Lakshadweep for actual sailings, fares and island calls; the operating fleet varies with the season and maintenance. Permit holders need their permit details for reservation. Confirm the return journey too.
Where can I fly, and how do I reach Kadmat?
Flights arrive on Agatti (AGX), Lakshadweep’s only airport. Check Kochi with Alliance Air or IndiGo, Bengaluru with IndiGo, and Goa with FLY91 for your dates. Continue to Kadmat by a separately confirmed high-speed vessel or authorised boat service. Check the operator, day, baggage, cost and return connection; sea conditions can alter schedules and travel times.
What should I confirm about entry permits?
Apply through the official e-Permit portal for your nationality, visit category, dates and islands, including transit islands. Scuba Lak recommends starting at least 15 days ahead, preferably earlier—not a guaranteed government processing time. Obtain the approved permit before travel; a flight booking or application receipt does not replace it.
Can I book a flight before my permit is approved?
You may be able to buy a flight before approval, but a ticket is not permission to enter Lakshadweep. Compare fares early and check the airline’s change and cancellation terms. If you book while approval is pending, you bear the risk of permit delays or refusal; approval and a valid permit are required before travel. Early booking does not guarantee a lower fare.
Does a permit always take exactly 15 days?
No. Allow at least 15 days as Scuba Lak’s planning recommendation and start earlier where possible. The Administration controls approval, may need further checks, and can take longer. Do not treat an application receipt or an indicative processing estimate as an approved permit.
Do foreign visitors follow the same process?
Nationality can affect permitted islands, documents and ticket-booking options. Foreign visitors should confirm current requirements with the Administration, their airline and an authorised local provider before paying; do not assume every island or online reservation category is available.
Can I rely on a seaplane or helicopter connection?
Do not plan a Kadmat visit around a special transport service without direct confirmation from its authorised operator. The existence of a helipad or a past route does not establish a bookable tourist service for your dates.
Accommodation
Local introductions, with stays booked independently with your chosen host.
Does Scuba Lak offer accommodation packages?
No. We focus on diving and do not sell accommodation packages. Third-party resorts and local homestays arrange stays directly with their guests.
Can Scuba Lak help me find somewhere to stay?
Yes. We can help you reach out to third-party resorts or homestay hosts. You confirm the accommodation and make the booking directly with the property.
Who confirms the room and handles payments or cancellations?
Your chosen property or host. Confirm the exact room, facilities, availability, payment arrangements and cancellation terms with them before booking.
Weather, changes & preparation
Leave flexibility for the sea, and confirm the applicable arrangements before paying.
Is there a guaranteed best month for visibility?
No month guarantees visibility on a particular day. Ask the team for local expectations around your proposed dates; weather and sea conditions still determine the final plan.
What if weather, transport or permit issues change the plan?
Calmer seas often help visibility, but visibility and wildlife are never guaranteed. Weather, Lakshadweep transport restrictions or entry-permit issues may require a different plan or cancellation. Any eligible refund depends on the circumstances and will be confirmed by the team; no fixed percentage is promised.
What happens if I cancel my dive?
For guest cancellations, no refund is available once the guest and team are ready to begin the scheduled dive. This does not describe an operator cancellation for unsafe conditions. Discuss changes and applicable refund terms with the team before paying.
Are dive times restricted to the contact-desk hours?
No. The contact desk is normally available daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm IST, but dives are arranged separately and may fall outside those hours depending on the agreed plan and conditions.
What should I check before arranging a flight after diving?
Agree the interval between your final dive and flying with your instructor before booking your onward journey. Confirm your complete dive and travel plan rather than assuming a same-day flight will fit.
